Beginning

This is the first post for my new blog "Over There." The primary purpose of this blog is to chronicle my various miniature related hobby projects and act as a gallery for photographs of my painting, miniature and otherwise. This blog is also meant to act as a repository of my photos and anecdotes regarding my studies and adventures in the U.K., for the benefit of my friends and family in the U.S.

Before I start with the declarations and promises for this blog, I fell that I should provide a little background on myself. I am a 24 year old student that originally hails from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 and will be attending Durham University in October to complete my MA in Early Modern history. Between my undergraduate and graduate studies I spent a year working several jobs including: laundromat attendant, substitute teacher, and insurance claims representative.

I have been gaming for almost a decade. Currently, I am primarily a skirmish gamer, with a heavy interest in sci-fi, fantasy and ancients. I will try to post pictures of my new painting as well as photos of any games I participate in. My goal for this blog is one miniature related post per day, with other post being included as they are warranted. I may revise that promise as I get heavier into my studies; but as I am now happily unemployed, I have no excuses.
